Sales are now open for the architecturally designed Symphony Centre apartments, part of New Zealand's first transit-oriented development, located in the heart of Auckland’s city center.

Symphony Centre, designed by the renowned firm Woods Bagot, has officially launched sales for its seventy-eight exclusive residences. These rare opportunities to live in a premier location within Auckland's cultural precinct are offered in a unique vertical village setting. These apartments provide sweeping views of the city's skyline and harbor, blending urban living with scenic surroundings.

In the evolving post-pandemic urban landscape, cities thrive on vibrant, multi-purpose spaces beyond traditional single-use designs. Symphony Centre embodies this shift, offering a true mixed-use development that integrates living, working, and leisure in the heart of Auckland. Future residents will experience an energetic atmosphere that activates day and night, enriching Auckland’s entertainment and arts district.

The 21-storey development rises above the new Te Waihorotiu Station at the corner of Wellesley Street and Mayoral Drive. Symphony Center is Auckland's first vertical transport-oriented development, featuring ground-level retail, a dynamic public realm, commercial floors, and premium amenities such as a gymnasium and movie theatre. Positioned above what is set to become the busiest station in the City Rail Link network, residents will enjoy unparalleled access to the city's culture, transport, and lifestyle, setting a new benchmark for urban living.

Symphony’s architectural and interior design merge seamlessly to create a cohesive aesthetic. Each apartment boasts views of Auckland’s cityscape, Maungawhau / Mount Eden, the Waitakere Ranges, and Waitematā Harbour. The residences offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom options alongside exclusive penthouses, all aimed at owner-occupiers.

Inside, the apartments feature natural timber flooring, stone benchtops, textured walls, and ceramic tiles, creating a warm and tactile environment. Bespoke lighting and metal accents add a contemporary touch to the interiors, with a neutral color palette that complements the surrounding natural views.

A spacious communal outdoor terrace on the building provides panoramic views of the city and serves as a space for residents to gather, socialize, and connect. Complete with dining and barbecue areas, the terrace is strategically placed between the workspaces and the residential floors above, creating a clear division of spaces.

Woods Bagot Director Bruno Mendes highlighted the importance of connecting to nature within this high-density urban model. “The architecture is characterized by openness and fluidity, bringing the outside in where possible and anchoring the building within its urban context while connecting with natural elements,” Mendes explained.

The residences are designed with a central atrium that stretches through the building’s levels. This atrium allows natural light to flood the interiors and creates a luminous space that connects the Level 10 Wellness Garden to the sky above.

The building’s wedge-shaped form is carefully designed to maximize sunlight into Aotea Square. At the same time, the sweeping roofline creates distinct commercial spaces with stunning views of both Maungawhau / Mount Eden and the Waitakere Ranges. The façade, crafted from glass-reinforced concrete in hues inspired by Waitematā sandstone, features a striking Poutama pattern by artist Graham Tipene, further embedding the building within its cultural context.

Symphony Centre redefines urban living in Auckland, offering a vibrant, mixed-use environment that integrates civic, commercial, and residential elements while contributing to the continued evolution of the Aotea Quarter.
