Atkins to become “digital by default” with move to Office 365
It’s amazing to watch how some of the world’s most innovative and forward-thinking companies are using Microsoft Office 365 to transform their businesses.
The latest example is Atkins, one of the world’s leading engineering, design and project management consultancies, which has chosen to roll out Office 365 E5 to over 18,600 employees worldwide. Office 365 E5 is our most comprehensive Office 365 offering ever, providing the core Office apps, plus email, cloud storage, a robust set of team collaboration capabilities, Skype for Business meetings and voice services, and advanced security and analytics capabilities. Atkins selected Office 365 to help achieve its goal of moving all its IT systems to the cloud.
Richard Cross, chief information officer and chief digital officer at Atkins. He refers to his company’s cloud transformation as one that will result in Atkins being “digital by default.” I want to share some comments from Richard because they really represent what so many companies are striving for in this modern era of work:
“I’m not only the trusted steward of our communication infrastructure but also responsible for ensuring Atkins employees have the collaboration tools they need to respond quickly, creatively and as a team to challenges—adding value to the business and for customers. Adopting Office 365 is a perfect first step to the cloud because it’s a mature set of services, with new capabilities being released all the time.
We’ve already seen great success with Office 365 ProPlus, and we’re excited about the agility and speed of response time that Power BI and Skype for Business Cloud PBX and PSTN Conferencing bring to our 18,600 employees.” — Richard Cross, chief information officer and chief digital officer at Atkins
Atkins anticipates that using Office 365 will help its teams with people in different locations work together more seamlessly, which will ultimately enhance its performance on global design and engineering projects. Team members will be able to collaborate and access data from wherever they’re working, without sacrificing privacy or security.
"I look forward to watching Atkins advance in its digital transformation, and I’m thrilled that Office 365 is playing an important role in the company’s future success." — Ron Markezich
