Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer

, Sweden

Description

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

Are you ready to be part of the biggest technology shift in the transport industry? Do you want to contribute to sustainable transport solutions while tackling exciting new challenges in electrical systems development? We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our product development team for Electrical Distribution Systems at Volvo Group Trucks Technology.

What you will do

You’ll help drive the world toward a cleaner future. Working in Electromobility gives you the benefits of a large international organization combined with the innovation-driven culture of a startup. You’ll collaborate closely across departments — sales, purchasing, labs, software, and more — and take full ownership of your work, from concept to industrialization, and through to aftermarket support.

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and delivering high-voltage electrical distribution hardware (e.g., HV connectors, cables, fuses, sensors)

Supporting both new and existing platform applications, aligned with our technology roadmap

Troubleshooting current products and improving system performance

Using development tools and processes such as JIRA, KOLA, PDM, and SE Tool

Working within a broad internal and external network

Providing technical support and feedback to global customers

Your future team

We are part of the Distribution and Charging teams, part of the Power Conversion group, with focus on transferring energy from the grid to the vehicle and distributing it efficiently from the battery to the driveline. We develop hardware for a wide range of applications — from trucks and buses to construction equipment and marine. We believe in the power of teamwork and shared purpose. Our agile work model means every team owns their planning and delivery, drawing on a mix of skills and perspectives to build great solutions. Diversity in knowledge, experience, age, gender, and background strengthens our innovation. Electromobility is one of the most dynamic fields in the heavy-duty transport industry — and your career will grow with it. At Volvo, our core values — Customer Success, Trust, Passion, Change, and Performance — guide everything we do.

Who are you?

You're a curious, collaborative team player with a passion for developing electrical driveline hardware. You enjoy solving today’s challenges while thinking ahead to future solutions. Experience in the electric vehicle field is a plus.

We believe you have:

A Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent)

Strong communication and collaboration skills

A structured, proactive way of working with multiple stakeholders

6+ years of Product Development experience, preferably in the automotive industry

Familiarity with Volvo tools and processes (KOLA, PDM, PIL)

Ready for the next move?

Apply now, and let’s shape the future of transport together.
