COWI India’s Marine Department is home to 55 skilled professionals, including 15 geotechnical engineers and nearly 40 structural engineers and BIM specialists. As part of our team, you will collaborate across borders with experts from the UK, North America, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, working on advanced projects in India, Singapore, and Indonesia.
We specialize in ports, harbors, coastal and marine structures, providing end-to-end consulting services to clients worldwide. Our skills in reclamation and ground improvement have led to innovative solutions for complex marine clay deposits and other stimulating environments. We are looking for a Marine Geotechnical Lead Engineer to oversee geotechnical analysis, foundation design, and ground improvement solutions for marine projects. In this role, you will work alongside global specialists, ensure project success while advance your own career in a dynamic and innovative environment. 
On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Lead and oversee geotechnical works in Marine and Infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and practical knowledge in foundation design, earth retaining structures design, reclamation and ground improvement techniques including soil stabilization, ground reinforcement, and erosion control.
  • Develop and review project designs, plans, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, cultivating a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with Marine and Infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates, budget status, and technical documentation.

Furthermore, you should:

  • Have master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.Have minimum of 10 years of experience in ports and marine works including reclamation and ground improvement projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Be strong in project management and leadership skills.
  • Have proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools viz. slope/W, Settle 3, LPile, Group, and WallapHave effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of reclamation and ground improvement techniques and best practices.Have the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Possess knowledge of Eurocode and experience in design using Eurocode
  • Be skilled in using Plaxis 2D and Plaxis 3D to the extent of problem solving
