Your impactAt Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who will deliver multiple Energy & Power projects including design, perform calculations, prepare contract drawings and specifications and prepare basis of design reports. Part of the role includes delegating work to junior staff and overseeing drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure they meet applicable codes and project requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing full electrical systems, including power, lighting, grounding, emergency and standby generation systems, and life safety systems
- Developing the assigned scope of work, manhour estimates, Electrical Execution Plans, and defined required resources for successful project execution.
- Providing system design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other disciplines
- Taking ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Here's what you'll need- Electrical Engineer with minimum 5 years' work experience in a consulting industry
- Proficiency in software tools such as ETAP and AutoCAD
- Knowledge in local and international technical codes
- Experience in Renewable Energy, Industrial and Buildings business would be an asset
- Experience in high, medium and low voltage design and equipment would be an asset
