KONE, an innovative leader in the elevator and escalator industry, will supply 113 elevators and 28 escalators to a multipurpose building complex to be built in Chengdu city, the capital of Sichuan province in China.

The multiuse complex consists of seven buildings located in the center of Chengdu High Tech Development Zone and Chengdu's new financial city center. KONE's solutions will enable smoother people flow in the office and commercial sections of the complex, which are scheduled to be ready by 2015.

The Zhonghai International Center consists of four 160-meter-tall and three 110-meter-tall buildings. They will be equipped with 28 KONE MonoSpace® and 85 KONE MiniSpaceTM elevators as well as with 24 KONE TravelMasterTM110 and four KONE TravelMasterTM120 escalators. For the smoothest and safest customer experience, installed solutions in all of the buildings will also include the KONE PolarisTM destination control system as well as the KONE E-LinkTM remote monitoring system to enable the efficient management of equipment and quick reaction to changing traffic situations.

Developed by China Overseas and Investment Ltd., the Zhonghai International Center has been designed by China Architecture Design and Research Institute Corporation Limited and Sichuan Provincial Architectural Design and Research Institute.
